NozL recordings proudly present the stunning debut EP from NozL, a scratch production duo based in the North East of England. Having received consistent support from Turntable Radio (Resonance FM), and recently signing "IDK" to digital imprint GC3, NozL present their eagerly anticipated debut EP "The Man Who Brought Us Here Has Vanished".

NozL's inventive music will appeal to fans of many different tastes – hand picking their ingredients from various genres including jazz, ambience, pop, dubstep and folk.

Tracks such as Expanding Rebecca will demand the attention of electronic and ambient aficionados; Hip Hop fans will relish in the head nodding beats and luscious guitar of “Sharp Star Mumbles” and “Softly Falls The Night”; and the hypnotic melodies of IDK will entrance the chill-out heads.

NozL have pieced together this ambitious project almost entirely from scratching together small parts from many different vinyl records, side stepping the pit falls and creative dead ends of traditional computer programmed electronica. This future vision of electronic production gives NozL a unique and cutting edge sound of their own not to be missed.

Olde Soul / Double K - Content (L)abel - 7" out now

Olde Soul / Double K - Content (L)abel - 7" out now

This ones out now and in Content (L)abel fashion, its a limited pressing. Links & sound clips below. Here is some info from the one sheet:
The mission begins with producer Olde Soul, setting the pace with “Taking Me Places,” a tale about weaving through L.A. nights. Blak King narrates the tale over hard drums and filtered bass, steered by vibes. This side of the journey ends with “Along the Way.” Los Angeles legend Double K (People Under the Stairs) detours with the melodic, funk tinged “Face to Face.” An extra treat concludes this project in the form of a “Bonus Beat.”

2tall - The Softer Diagram - Out Now

2tall - The Softer Diagram - Out Now

I just heard this is now shipping from Content / Samplist.com & will be in stores on July 29th.  I don'tthink 2tall needs much introduction but I'll throw out a few things anyway.  He was featured on numerous Turntable Radio Shows (see the previous post), give a listen to Shifting Tides, my personal favorite, check out Senses Overloaded (free ep 2tall & lamont) & he is the man behind the Cuts Of Culture series featuring his tracks and tons of other great scratch tracks from people all over the world.  Oh and some of his tracks have been included in The DayMakers Podcasts here on tablist.net.  His approach to music and I think his focus (scratch vs production) has changed.  It all still has the 2tall sound & feel.  The Softer Diagram is available now from Samplist.com and will be available in stores July 29th.  Its released on the Content Label, & is probably somewhat limited so get it while you can.   Check out some Samples Here.

Mr. Trick, Taking it back.... Old School Turntable Radio - Check it.

If you haven't heard already the gang over at turntable radio is re-releasing their old Turntable Radio episodes every week.  They have always been available in real media format, but now they are mp3s.  Weather you haven't heard these shows since they were new or you've never heard them at all, this would be a good time to check them out.  These shows have been a huge inspiration and resource for me.  I seriously doubt tablist.net would be around if I wasn't able to hear so many dope artists making scratch music.  So big up to Mr. Trick & Laurent for making it happen.Turntableradio.com
